The 2016 recipient of the NASA Honor Award “Outstanding Public Leadership Medal” for outstanding leadership in the advancement of microwave remote sensing technologies, Moghaddam has co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed journal papers and more than 300 conference papers. Her research interests include radar systems, microwave remote sensing for environmental applications, medical imaging, and focused microwave therapy and intraoperative monitoring systems. She is also the director of new research initiatives at USC Viterbi and leads the Center for Arid Climate Water Research (AWARE). Moghaddam is the director of the Microwave Systems, Sensors and Imaging Lab (MiXIL) at USC. She will serve a one-year term as president-elect starting January 1, 2019, and will start her term as president of APS in January 2020. Hogue Professorship in Electrical Engineering in the Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical Engineering, was named president-elect of IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (APS), one of the largest societies within IEEE with over 8,000 members.
